Glynda is not one of the ones that lays white eggs.
She already laid blue eggs.
Then for some reason the color faded.

That is correct. She is a blue layer with some kind of fade as the season goes on.

She is. And she doesn’t look like any pictures I have seen.
I sent a picture to the breeder and he said he had never seen one like her before.
He thought she looked very cool.
Assumed it was some mutation.
Now I am hoping he doesn’t ask for her back to breed from her!!
I will be curious to see if she changes as she ages and maybe ends up looking like she is supposed to - for now we know I have a truly unique little chicken!

I am sooo sorry, RIP pretty boy Floyd. This one hurts. I understand the anger and frustration with the boys, when they cross a line their fates are sealed. I came so close to wringing Twigs neck if I could have caught him when he turned on Branch and almost killed him. I loved that boy, tried everything for it to work out but it was not meant to be and no one messes with Branch. If Bubba were to turn on Branch out of the blue I would end him or get rid of him as well. I have got to get my act together and rehome the 2 boys in Raven's group of chicks. Mom is falling for one of them and I sort of like the other. After the Twig fiasco I just cannot take a chance on a 3rd boy. No, I could, but I will not.

I still miss Twiggy!

She on to my game and making more adjustments to outwit me. I have been removing her from the roost every evening to give her a dose of metacam.

She can't really switch roosts because of the pecking order. Aurora would not allow it. I believe the sore keeps her from sleeping on the ground, or so I thought.

Last night I went to gather her up for her dose. I've been doing it after 11 to try and push the effectiveness further into the next day for her. I guess I need to switch up my time again.

Last night she was off the roost when I opened the door and took off running across the coop. I managed to snag her tail feathers before she got clean away but a chase around the coop at 11 does not feel like fun to me.

She had apparently tanked up for the game as her craw was full as well. She is a smart one this girl. We have years to go on this med. I can only imagine how clever she will be.

I think she is supposed to look like Bernie but silver instead of gold around the neck and head.
She isn’t supposed to have all that white.
And she is supposed to have a pink/red/blush chest like Bernie does.
Imagine Bernie in silver (sorry about the stray finger).
