Grandma is still with us. There was a few terrifying times for me last night. She is not scared, so I walk away for a moment or two if it gets to much. She is better this morning and ate breakfast. This has been a pattern the last couple days. She has a semi good morning, bad afternoon and terrible nights with the nights getting progressively worse. The bright side to all of this is since she has been home her breakfast has been constant and something she is asking for. 2 scrambled eggs and half a English muffin. Those eggs she is eating, I am to make sure they come from her white hens. Thankfully the leghorns are early layers and she HAS to have 2 of the eggs straight from the nest box.
That’s wonderful that she is enjoying her breakfast, hopefully she doesn’t ask to make sure the eggs are still warm! 🄰

Also, I am glad that you are taking time away and de-stressing, hope your mum is doing ok ā¤ļøšŸ’•

It’s better than wood shavings for a garden or composting. They take a very long time to break down, I bring mine across the road to the tree farm, they use it to make the soil more acidic for their Christmas trees.

When pine trees are harvested, they get replaced with new plantings (in managed forests, anyways) Peat, like coal and oil, take a long time to 'create'. (not quite as bad/long, but it doesn't just 'grow' it's own replacements - it can take 10 years for 1cm of peat to form.

Yes greenwashing is a big issue in many industries.
But you are joking about the forest and the cows right? I mean joking that you have never heard that one before?

The youngsters likely haven’t heard that - I think it was a big thing in 90s and 2000s - I don’t seem to be hearing much about it in recent years.
