I did it guys, finally @48yrs old, I got my bachelor’s degree in education woohoo 🎉 and to celebrate the flock gave me the best and arguably one of the most elusive photos, a whole flock picture, all 13 are in there!!!

Congratulations!! This is amazing 👏

What an amazing photo too! Maybe crop out the building and have it printed out big and nice.

Starting to get a little chilly in the morning here. Not quite ready to use the heater yet, but close!
Sir Jaffar had been calling for me to let the chooks out for the day. They didn’t touch the squash 😞 I will feed them later
It's cold butt weather here tonight. We had sun today.

This morning we had this fine rain that almost looked like snow to me.

I'm pleased that I got that wooden divan in thier coop 😆 That's just what this looks like.
My neighbour made it for them last year. What with the cardboard and straw on top of it, it's really cozy in there.

Well. I don’t think there is any doubt that Sylvie is broody.
She hadn’t left the nest in 24 hours so I hauled her off and put her in the run where she was immediately attacked by Tassels which feels a bit unfair.
The mystery is the eggs. I need to look back at my records but I am puzzled.
Sylvie had accumulated 5 eggs (all real).
The small brown one is her own. The little blue ones are likely Piglet. But if they are all Piglet’s then one is from today. So maybe one is from a new blue layer (Pooh or Calypso). Hmmm.
The mystery is the big blue long one. Maybe it is a strange shaped Babs egg. Or someone new laying.
These chickens confuse me.

In the second picture the brown one on top of the egg box is Sylvie’s from a couple of days ago, and the blue one on the far right is Babs from today. Next to Babs’ egg is the big long blue egg.

(This is my first try at the synopsis. Please forgive me if I missed something which is almost inevitable.)

It is also very exciting that @RebeccaBoyd got a new silkie hen. She is 5-month old. Her name is Poppet. She is beyond adorable: https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...es-stories-of-our-flock.1286630/post-27235416

Yup she is back on the nest. But I took her 5 eggs so now she has gathered up the fake eggs and is sitting on those instead.
I don't think she ate or drank while she was off the nest so I am going to go back and have another go with a private food and water delivery. Oh boy!
Whoa Nelly! This time of year? She is dedicated, though I guess Henny Penny did that also, and my two silkies went broody on n February a couple yrs ago…. Chickens, they are funny little people 😊

Thank you for getting back but...

I have a feeling her kidneys are the problem. I'm battling with myself on how to ease this

My moulting kiddos have poop like that. And if they get too much greens 🥬.

Just make sure she has regular chicken food all the time and clean water. 💕
