Beautiful hen! Yes, this is a great place to post pics of your chooks. We have different days in which we post different types of pics also. The primer says everything!

Is Butterscotch a type of legbar? She’s got a nice combination of comb, wattles and pretty ears plus snazzy poof. The topknot doesn’t appear to be in the way of her vision either. 😍
Dada is Mr P and mama is one of my hens who are barnyard mutts 🥰

She just started laying, pretty pink eggs. I was expecting blue!

Miss Sylvie has now lost all but one of her neck feathers and all but two of her tail feathers. She is now looking rumpled around the chest so I think k she is going for a full molt.
She seems happy enough and is out with everyone digging in the soggy dirt for bugs and worms.
Everyone was too busy digging to keep me company so I delivered fresh water and went indoors.
Well OK I had a nap in the Chicken Palace garden first but when I woke up they were all off digging.
Bernie has also ditched the feather I wanted to pull out and is following Babs around. I think Babs may have special grub detection skills as she always seems to be the one that finds juicy wriggly things.

Yep, I have had them do this after being broody - I am sure it’s the hormones that affect feathers.

Babs must be related to Sophia, she finds the best bugs 😊

If she's laying pink, then her mama is one of your brown egg layers (probably one of the lighter brown). Shan is a Brahma x hamburg. She's got the white earlobes of the hamburg. Her mother (whichever one she is) lays lightish brown eggs. Hamburgs lay white. That combined to lighten up the light brown to pink.

She's really popping the earlobes in this pic.

I'm still trying to figure out how Cheetah's transverse pencilling and the dark brahmas chevron pencilling makes her feathers. However it works, she's stunning to my eyes.

Yea, @RoyalChick and @Ponypoor , don't pull tail feathers! 🪶:old
Soooo tempting that one sticking up all alone…

I have small hands. I'm lucky to hold 3 standard eggs from my girls. Those are small eggs. Mera's looks to be a first egg after stopping for moult, so small for her normal. Nellie's is small for her too. I'm glad to be getting a few eggs. Cuckoo is laying again too, but seems to be taking a day off (good). Having a few experienced ladies laying helps teach the pullets how to do it in wise ways.
Butterscotch’s egg today I thought was very large for a small hen. Hope she isn’t one of those hens to lay every day.

Gosh yes ! Please post all the photos you want here - we are a chatty bunch and love to showcase our chooks 😊💕

Yes I love her colouring - good name Cheetah 💕😊

I would say that Butterscotch’s mum is likely Rose.
