Well I am feeling optimistic.
She had this big lump on her foot. Nobody could figure it out. Maybe cancer, maybe an abscess.
They aspirated some cells and that suggested infection rather than cancer but was not fully definitive.
So we said 6 weeks of antibiotics and me massaging the foot - like trying to break up a blocked chicken crop. Not so easy on a cat who doesn't want her paw touched and has claws that are very, very sharp (first hand experience on that!).
Then she was scheduled for surgery when I am back in January to cut whatever it was out.
I wasn't optimistic as she already had a course of antibiotics for it and it made no difference.
Well on week 5 of the 6 weeks I go to massage her foot and I can't find the lump. Just some little scabby bits.
I am to keep the appointment in January, but if it hasn't returned than no surgery.
Fingers definitely crossed on that one!
It’s likely it was a compartmentalized infection, this is good news!

Be a good kitty and let me squeeze your paw please tax:
Everybody except one Buckeye piled in the nestbox to start the roost off the other night. Yes there’s a Spud between the one looking around and the Buckeye against the back. Don’t know how they managed that! Checking in later one Spud had moved to perch on the divider. If I checked some hours later it would probably be different again.

Yes. I just hope there isn't a foreign body in it. Now the lump has gone she won't let me near it so we will have to wait and see.

In good news from the Princesses, Babs took a day off and didn't lay today. The last time she didn't lay was 2 weeks ago - but looking at the eggs I collected I think that might have been that I just didn't remember to fill in my sheet - so it may be more like a month ago.
She got chopped nuts as a reward for not laying. They get beef tomorrow - Bernie is a horrible molting mess so I want to make sure she is getting enough protein.

I am afraid I don't know what a lady egg is
My sister would drop of her ordest when she was a baby for a sleep over 😁 I would say she was only about 3 months old then, it was more so my sister could sleep haha.

We never had any problems with any of the kids - if they woke at night we would change them in low light, give them a snack of a small bottle, which they never finished as they would fall back to sleep. 15 min tops awake! Not sure how my sister would spend hours with them awake…?

When my two lovers got older them would sleep over and play ‘camping’ we put a huge foam ball n the living-room floor and they sleepy there 😊 NOT in our beds that’s for sure! Sheesh those kids where all over the bed sleeping - legs arms flailing rolling around - one could get a black eye from them sleeping! As bad as the cat taking up the whole bed - pushing you off the bed hogging the covers 😆

Can’t wait till next summer for a thunderstorm to give the chooks another ‘lake’ to play in!

Yah and I’d like to know what’s up with @Ponypoor ’s “two lovers” !:lau

Support me! 😡😖😩:barnie:mad: my refrigerator stopped working last night. Well over $400 dollars US. in meat, shrimp, lobster tails, my ice cream. The chooks treats, and anything that is in the fridge compartment. :hit So much waste. I’m so angry about this!
Ah, frozen goods. Well so what about your neighbors, the ones always wanting from you? Can they lend a spot in their freezer for a few days?

Oh no on the fridge! I hope the replacement serves you well and the chicky birds enjoy their feast.

Some fluffy butts. Kiddo spoiled the girls this morning with mealworms, birdseed, and dried corn. They were happy to partake!

I accidentally spilled some outside the gate so the braver girls got to creep out for some extras. Liara had to make sure it was safe first, she acts a lot like a roo and protects the others.
Hubby had a tooth pulled yesterday but had to work today, poor guy is probably going to be miserable when he gets home. I'm hoping to send kiddo next door so I can clean the bathrooms and set up a mealworm bin. Between the bearded dragon and the chooks, we'll need it!View attachment 3710240
Sleepy old man

@Desertvalleychickens I just love this photo. It kept pulling me back to look at it. I'm not sure what it is about it - the relative symmetry? the consistent earth tones in both the egg colors and the background? The simplicity yet beauty of it??? IDK - I just know I really, really am drawn to this picture. 🥰 🥰

I think it would make a GREAT🧩 jigsaw 🧩puzzle!!
Wow yea that would be an amazingly difficult puzzle !!

I wonder do they still have that egg photo contest? 💕❤️
