Black Oil Sunflower SeedWhat is BOSS?
Aw! Didn’t know thatBlack Oil Sunflower Seed
Gumbo wants to stay with you. The only home he ever wanted!Gumbo respects Pastel. I put both of them in the same coop, just separate from the girls. I gave them food and treats in there, and Gumbo stayed away from it. Once I put Pastel back in with the girls, Gumbo finished the food. I am glad that he respects Pastel, and I’m glad that Pastel ignores Gumbo.
Best thing you ever did. Chiquita and now Poppet were Facebook girls.Jaffar is a Craigslist cowboy![]()
Temperatures dropping here - hopefully won't get to -1. Remind me, do you have any heat in the coop or are they OK at that temperature on their own. I am just looking at anything I can do to help my ladies before mid-week when it gets bad.It got to -1 last night. I had the chickens shut into the coop for part of the day. They didn't seem to mind... much. I had the pop door open later, and the Bielefelders would come out when I went in to do egg check.
Later in the afternoon, I opened the people door too. When I went out for chickie snack time, everyone came out. While it's so frigid (single digits), I'm giving them some BOSS and mealworms, scattered about in the coop. Lots of scratching and looking.
Air circulation, but no drafts. Clean water and healthy food (and a few goodies)Temperatures dropping here - hopefully won't get to -1. They are now all fully feathered (apart from the ones the hawk ripped out), so I was hoping they would be OK.
