Does the power company know that there is someone whose life is dependent on power living at your house? If not, you should tell them. They will prioritize restoring power to your house then.

I did not know this, thank you. The roads are bad here right now. They have done a good job of keeping the highway clear, but the hollers and back roads are terrible. We postponed the hospice nurses visit this morning. She called asking about the roads. If we had needed her she would have tried to come out. We informed her the roads were terrible, we were good and not to worry about us today. I know they are having to brave this weather to reach their patients that truly need them. Me and mom have managed on our own for almost 2 years, and their help is a blessing. That said, not worth a guilty conscience if something terrible happened to them if they tried to get to us to help with a bath or bring another pack of diapers. Over the phone we checked her vitals for them to put in their records. She has all her medication, no refills needed and since she got the new mattress grandma is happy. We also were thrilled to report to the nurse that the powders they prescribed for her bed sore has worked wonderfully and it is healing. Best it has looked in months.

Brrrr. I went out to turn off the fence energizer so it doesn't run the battery down. I took the fence down so Calypso could come back easily after the hawk attack - but now it is buried under snow and the ground is frozen - so I will have to wait for some melting before I put it up again.
It was interesting to see how (almost) all the animal prints go around the outside of the fence even though it isn't actually there. They really do learn to avoid it.
However, someone came inside the chicken yard and left these prints right by the door. WDYT? Fox? Coyote? Neighbor's dog?

Also cute, though not quite as artsy as @Ponypoor's chicken feet in snow I saw these inside the covered chicken run where a dusting of snow had blown in.

That's very good news on the sore. :thumbsup

Random pics for any tax owed 😊

Bert - I tried to get his butterscotch coloured spots, he sure is a cutie, he sure does remind me of Henny Penny even though she isn’t his egg mama

Oh and someone was crowing this morning- any guesses as to whom! I am sure it’s Bert but with Sophia and Penelope also crowing at times who can be sure, but it sounded like a young roosterlette starting to crow so likely Bert.

How old is Bert now. He feels awful young to be crowing.
