ALL HAIL THE QUEEN!
Today is her 5th Hatchday! All the tribe wanted to celebrate with her! It is no surprise that while Hattie's 5th party was very proper, Aurora's was a free for all. Sydney refused to wait for Aurora to even get there and just dived in.

More photos to come as the celebration goes on!
AWESOME 💕🥰❤️

That was wonderful!

Happy Hatchday Your Majesty 💕😊

I'm just seeing this. Poor Marty and bad, bad Larry. Similar happened the other day with Poppet. I am making it a point to spend about 20 minutes outside with the chickens in the even before bed. I open up the coop and allow Poppet some supervised free range. Grouchy Gryffyn the big behemoth cochin decided to yank out some of Poppets neck feathers. Poppet shrieked and Owly plowed into her like a wrecking ball. Marty cuddles? Did she actually settle and enjoy them?
Well ever since I kept her in the feedroom when she was moulting she has decided it’s the place to be! Add to the fact she gets mealworms in there - she has decided I am ok I guess.

Tonight she just gobbled up her calcium I didn’t have to shove it down her gob hahaha. I quickly gave her more mealworms for that!

She is a character - she has figured that I should hold her up so she can see everything from height. Hahaha she has me well trained!

She still gets mad if I mess with Henny’s chicks - who bless her heart is still brooding them! 11 weeks now 💕

Next month I will get my friends Roo and bring here - I hope Henny has the chicks weaned by then, no way am I risking Bert being with them and breeding them. Gosh I hope she is back to laying and fluffy and curly also! Those two are moulting! Only Marty is laying right now out of the silkies.

I wish I could love this 1000 times. Wee Miss Marty is beautiful. She would be a perfect match with my Branch. They both have some gold feathering lacing their necks. I know I have said it before, and I will say it again. I would take every single beating that hen threw at me for daily snuggles with her.
I am definitely going to have to get eggs to you some how hahaha. 💕❤️

So I am thinking the black Roo of my friend what do you think? I will repost the photos of them tomorrow.

You do know a lot of people purposefully cross their silkies with bantam cochins and call the resulting cross satin silkies. Henny could very well be one of those crosses.
Yes I am thinking this. I can’t wait to see what she throws crosses on a Silkie !

Now for some Poppet love.
I spent a good bit of time trying to get a few pictures of her. SHE WILL NOT STAY STILL.
I have 30 various photo's of this.

Egg news for Poppet. Nothing, still waiting. Finally for the first time I saw some rooster interest in her. I had to swiftly intervene and shoo him away. Of course it would be Bubba who would show interest in her and attempt to breed her.
This picture illustrates why it just cannot happen.

Branch, who Poppet is intended for, has he shown interest. NO, he cannot get his head out of the cochin and leghorn girls behinds to notice her darn him.
Little Man, it is time me and you sat down and had a long serious talk about your choice of lady friends.

Even though I make a point now to go spend time every evening outside with the chickens, I do not always have my camera. It seems at most I can only sneak in 10 to 15 minutes. Those few precious minutes are simply spent just sitting with the flock being in the moment. Today however I did bring out the camera and stole a extra few minutes chasing everyone around for photos.
For Wattle Wednesday I offer you my most impressive set of wattles in the flock.
