So-o-o peacefully gorgeous. Love your "rural" scenes! We live in a suburban neighborhood but we are close to our mtns here. We live in an area 20 miles from L.A.'s metropolis, 20+ miles from the beaches, 20+ miles from the hi & lo deserts, & about 2 miles from the foothills ascending to the mtns. Lots of variety but I don't care for beaches or metropolises.

Meanwhile I am regularly inundated with spoiled rotten chooks who think I am their slave to carry them around, feed them treats and hop on for a higher vantage point.

Take my 5 elderly ladies, they now wait for me to lower them to the floor in the morning, and now I have 3 otjers who are waiting for the same treatment! What am I a slave to a chicken?

Penelope & Blanche
Both of whom get the special elevator service in the morning.

Hooman, of course you are not a SLAVE. You are our Indentured Servant. Sheesh, hooman, get it correct, slavery is no longer legal, and hasn't been for over a century, we, of course, would not break the law!

Now, enough chatting on here - the elevator needs working and treats need dispensing!

Beautiful Mountains.

Happy Monday.
This is almost a Tassels mugshot. She is keeping her eye on the sky.

What am I going to do with her?!
The same thing most parents do with teenagers. Shake their head, love them, but contemplate wringing their neck at times, and blubbering at other times when they are just so darn sweet....and hope that when they 'grow up' and are no longer adolescents (read here: pullets), that they will settle down with a level head.;):gig;)

Mugs Monday

Greetings all, I have a rare moment to sit on the lawnchair and just ‘be’.

Rosario the beast was attacked by one of the other chooks and they tore his comb, which has bled all down his neck, and we all now what that looks like on a white chicken. And he keeps coming near and flicking his head getting blood on me! Ugh.

The older chooks are wanting in to roost, but I told them another 15 min. Take advantage of this nice weather, we all know it won’t last.

Mr P is busy being his old self.

Marty is almost done moulting, I’ll need to trim her fancy coiffe soon so she can see!

Laverne is looking good, she should soon be getting ready to lay eggs.

And Fluffy is the only silkie laying right now, with Curly and Henny broody and Marty still finishing moulting.

Ok well I best get them all in, catch Rosario and see if I can clean him up, and let the seniors get to bed 😊

It must be said that I do love carrying her out into the field - she is sooooo soft!
