Oh, my gosh - they are looking all grown up! They must be in the teen stage now - mini adults!!!

What a gorgeous flock! And those cute mini-silkies next to the SFH - yet they look like they belong, too!

My Dakota, loves to come in the house on hot days, where the room is cool and the corn is plentiful. She lets me know when she wants to come in. She’ll stand near my feet, and if I don’t pick her up, she’ll jump up on the porch railing. She won’t jump into my lap (that’s too undignified for her)

Anyone ever eat corn right from the cob without cooking it first? I bought some corn for the kids $.33 cents each at Walmart.
I bought 30 ears and I think I made the cashier a little angry but I tried an ear and I found it very delicious .

Some varieties are sweet enough to eat while some are tasteless starch. I used to eat my corn right at picking off the stalk. So fresh & sweet. I only had one chicken then... a neighbor boy gifted her to me when he learned I grew up on a farm & he even built her a nice little coop for her to roost... year 1971-72 so sorry I have no real pic of the sweetie red hen.

If an ear tastes starchy it might have been stored too long & kernels turn tougher or the sugar can start to go starchy.

After one season of growing corn I never grew it again... not because it takes space but because the stalks didn't decompose after a year in compost & I didn't have a chipper to cut up the hard dry stalks into tiny pieces for mulch!

Your sampling the corn shouldn't bother the cashier if you honestly paid for it. I've seen WM videos of customers doing lots worse.
