I have moved Tassels and her babies into the Chicken Palace. I will keep them confined in the dog crate for 24 hours and then let them out to explore.
It wasn't the easiest thing to move the dog crate with its occupants from the garage, so I had to improvise.

Tassels made it known that my driving of the carriage left something to be desired (bit of a bumpy ride) but she calmed right down when she realized she was back home in the Chicken Palace.

The Littles are very energetic and although I miss their little peep-peep sounds in my bathroom, I am glad Tassels is now in charge!
I'm so glad it worked out and she's in charge. Lucky her, lucky littles and lucky you! 💗

I have one here, but it’s way too humid for it to be effective.

Though today the humidity is lower or might work ok.

Here is a relative humidity chart for temps you can achieve.

So my temp is at 89F and 46% humidity so I can expect the temp to be reduced to 78F. View attachment 4194908

The big problem here is the swamp cooler increases the local air humidity and over time reduces its efficiency.

These are super awesome for dry desert
Temp here is 104, humidity 17%. Looks like we can drop the temp by at least 20 degrees for the poor things. I think they appreciate it! I know it sure felt cooler to me when I was in there.

So is that Geronimo about to leap up to the cardboard top edge? Mama is doubling / merely a handy springboard…. Sorry for my incessant worrying, the first thing I think is that one will get caught out and end up between the cardboard and the cage wire, but probably will pop through they’re so small, and then what? Which Auntie will greet them?
Oh I worry about that constantly.
The top of the cardboard is still just out of their reach, but I certainly hadn’t thought through the Tassels springboard effect. If Tassels were to stand up with them on her back then I am confident Geronimo would be out.
Rather than further raise the cardboard and make it even more dark and gloomy, I would rather let them out!
I am a bit scared about that too!

So, seeing this looks just like a real Caravan, original tiny house, and with Tassels in charge, forgive me if this isn’t the proper respectful name, but Gypsies (Roma?) came to mind! Found one with tassels too!

Well two are broody and haven’t even noticed even though they are only a few feet away.
Calypso hasn’t engaged yet, but Pooh is fascinated!

Yep that’s how it starts, then they want their own babies….. before you know it you have 4 dozen chooks 🤭
