I love this time of day letting my chooks out to start their busy day

It’s miserable here. Pelting down rain. Cold. The chooks are all whining - I am hiding in the feedroom.

Nesting Time

A silly distraction. Oh what those chickens can put you through.

I forgot how early the sun sets now and Niamh was not in the coop and about an hour after dark, I realized it.

So out I went expecting to find her on top of the coop extension. Alas she was not there.

I started looking for her and did not quickly see her. Then I noticed Éowyn trying to get up into what remains of the grape vines.

I use rubber bungee cords, those flat ones, but it is not easy to get the right length working. Better might be small eye screws into the boards, probably on the undersides, and zip ties (they make releasable ones) through them and around the legs? And / or the steps & round rungs.

I was thinking something line this too, but using bailing wire.

Wee Leah passed away today, I just couldn’t get calories into her, I might do a check of the crop to see if there are any visible signs of blockage. But I do feel there was more going on with her.

Petra is on her own now and a bit lost. Hopefully she will make some friends with the silkie chicks.

Yeah, wait on the yellowjacket lumber unless you can take a hose out with you (they can't fly in "rain". I like both heights for the blue piece. Can you make a "platform" on the next back brace up from the higher blue spot and run one cross wise through there just for another dimension?

Oh. Nice idea. Will see what I have available. It is freezing tonight so maybe the yellow jackets will succumb.
