Edited to add that’s not a pip. It’s was also chipped when shipped. The membrane was not damaged

day 3....finally got incubator locked in at 99.5/32% humidity! wondering if I should candle or be patient and wait until day 7. read a blog attached to previous byc thread that finally gave me a better understanding of humidity!!

I tried candling a couple cream Legbar eggs under my broody tonight, but those shells are going to require a little more development to be sure of growth.
 
@Farmer Connie I really wanted to hatch some Call duck eggs for this HAL, but decided against it. Well it appears that my eldest duck hen may do it for me. So far she has 7 eggs, but she isn’t sitting full time yet. She is still collecting. I hope to add those to my list soon.

For those that don’t have broody duck hens, they don’t start sitting right away like chicken hens do. They collect eggs and sit on them off and on, throughout the days, to keep them all on the same schedule. Once they commit to overnight sitting, that’s when they are serious! (*at least in my experience*)
