Official Squatch Watchers

I almost always separate breeds for that reason, you can ask more for purebreds and the feed costs are the same. In TN i had 20 plus coops plus runs and tractors , sold and shipped a lot of hatching eggs. And chicks.
I guess I should say it's hard for me, because I want them to free range and its gonna take alot of clearing and building to be able to have the breeds "free range" in separate pins lol.

I also like the unique colors and looks I get from the mixes. :D

Like Jade, she is a cross between my Partridge Cochin Bantam & EE(some how?? )
She has partly feather feet too. She is so sweet!

You could always advertise barnyard mixes as a grab bag kaleidoscope surprise. Just make sure you state that they will not be purebred, but that they come from a flock of good, hardy birds. Also, they will be more likely to produce a variety of egg colors. There are people who want to have a colorful flock, and a variety for egg color, it's just a matter of making sure you're visible to them.

You guys, I just participated in an online focus group Skype thingie for a chicken food manufacturer....I got $25 and free chicken food for doing it.....yeaaaahhhh!

(I had Flower on my lap for about half of it. Until she laid THE MOTHER OF ALL GIANT TATERS on my thigh, lol. It stunk so bad I had to run out of the room and change! lolol)

oOOOHHHH!!!! I LIKE THIS! Kaleidoscope hens that is perfect. Colored eggs is a super bonus!

I would feel like I absolutely had to have some.

 I may be a chicken addict.

LOL PBM!! A super tater right in your lap. :lau
Way cool about the 25 bucks and free feed.
:yesss:

This next part I will start with I AM FINE.
Tried to go grocery shopping. Just picking up a few small things for supper.
Made it 1.5 miles from home and got rear ended at a red light.
It was very low speed as we both had been stopped. The intersection is a "you can turn left if it is clear" type intersection. The light went green BUT it was not clear. She was on her freaking phone and went full gas. I was still on my brakes.

NOT injured but spent an hour waiting for the police.

Super beyond glad I was not on my motorcycle.
I would have been thrown off and then sent to jail for beating the tar out of her.

EXACTLY!

I still haven't gone to the store. Hubby gets home in an hour. I will go then BUT to the store that is less than half a mile away.
I got the new sale flier in the mail and they have some good stuff in there.

Broody trance is an understatement! She’s in a coma in there. I’ve never had a broody so I’m more worried about her then the eggs I guess.
I got her to have a few nibbles this morning and dripped some water on her beak so she got some fluids. I wish she’d eat more or I would see her off the nest at least once. (And not sitting in a different nest)
You have food and water near her, right? Is it possible that she's eating & drinking while sitting on the nest so she doesn't have the need to get up and eat as much? If you let the others out to range does she go out too?
