Official Squatch Watchers

Moles are pretty big, and stinky! Cat brought one in and it was gag worthy. They are among the few things the cat or the girls won't eat.
I saw a mole yesterday when I was mowing the chicken field. They are HUGE! (compared to mice and voles)

13 out of 40 Guniea eggs are growing!!! Better the. None!!!
Let's see if I can get them to hatch! I couldn't rememebr the exact day I set the  it was the day @CapricornFarm told me to put it at 30%.......that's a billion and 1 pages ago!! But I think Saturday the 12th was the set date. You said 28 day? And what do you use for hatching humidity?

Thank you for these links. Yes, we sit on top of an underground lake or something... you can literally hear the water rushing after it rains. We have a ravine in front of our property that runs at least the length of our street (5+miles) and a ravine behind our home. We have had holes all over the yard, where the DH has said they were created by the crawdads, but at NO TIME can I ever let him be right... ever... Ever. Keepin the white man down yanno. :gig

Ha! You got yard lobsters! :lau

Sometimes is spikes up to 60%, but at least 40%.

Overheard today in Crazy Chicken Lady's backyard:

(Crazy Chicken Lady (CCL) is sitting on deck, cradling and kissing a perfect--looking orange Mille Fleur d'Uccle hen.)

CCL: "Who is the most beautiful chicken EVER??!! Is it FLOWER?! I think it is! Cluck once for yes, two for no."

<Crickets chirp>

Flower: <clucks twice>

CCL: "No, no , she really is!! OK, who is the BEST CHICKEN MOM in the whole world?? Would that be me?!"

Flower: <looks bored, clucks twice, half-assedly>.

CCL: "Oh RIIIIIGHT! I meant, cluck two for yes!"

Flower: <says nothing, lays a giant turd on CCL's thigh>

Ahhh a number 2 for the number 1 chicken mama! Btw, those aren't turds they're handicrafts, stick some googly eyes on that steamer and sell it on etsy.:lau

So you guys, I've been a bit AWOL, but I'm back! :)

I've been skimming here on the boards, but I really need someone to catch me up properly on the main highlights....I'm OK, just been real busy working, orienting to all these different schools in the district. Survived my first motherless Mother's Day (which was very hard, but I guess it will get easier, as time goes by). Been gardening a bit on the *very few* nonraining days we've had. Getting over a bad cold (actually had to call in sick yesterday--fever). Finally transitioned the babies (the Seramas and the Feather Duster) out to the smaller coop run in their cage, and they spent their first night outdoors! No more Garage Chickens!

Doggies are all good. Hubby is good. He is putting a shiny tin roof on the tops of the runs, as we speak!! Yay! It's gonna be bomb.

My nephew Finbar turns one this weekend, and we are going to his first birthday party. He is seriously freaking adorbs, I cannot stand the cuteness of that baby. I want to eat him up. His little fat piggies (toes) OMG. Rae and Hope, how do you keep from eating your babies??!!

Anyhoo, gonna read a few posts and make dinner for the hubs. I LOVE YOU GUYZZZ!!!

:love :wee :love :wee

XO, Cindi

Good morning all!

FINALLY watched the very first episode of The Walking Dead yesterday. Do NOT say taters to me about it, you whackadoodle die hard fans...... I know some of ya are out here..... I had a whole slew of taters going on when it first came out, and then a whole slew of taters going on since...... but the first episode was pretty awesome actually! And, although I have read probably a ton of spoilers... I have forgotten them by now so I'm GTG.

Watched it with the PIC..... it was his idea initially...... we talked about it for a couple of days beforehand, so that I KNEW very clearly that HE UNDERSTOOD that zombies aren't real and that all the blood and gore and stuff were special effects. There were a few things in the show he didn't understand, so we'd pause and discuss, and things worked out fine. Now he wants to get through his chores today especially fast, so that we can watch the 2nd episode!! lol I might be able to get extra work outta him and use TWD episodes as *payment*! :gig

Chickens are fine, ducks are fine. Going to build another CP Hoop Coop this weekend. Putting together the 10x10 dog run for the ducks to live in until we get their area set up. I need to get out and take pics of where I wanna put them... it is such a beautiful and cozy little area of the property... man I really want to put a little french table and 2 chairs out there... perfect place to sit on lazy Sunday mornings....

Well, off to get stuff done! Y'all have a terrific THURSDAY!!! :hugs

OH GIRL!!!!!! You finally busted your TWD cherry? :th Way overdue, IMO!
:smack

You have SO MUCH zombie goodness ahead. Not only that, you will delight in how well-suited us crazy chicken people/homesteaders/gardeners/ etc's are for the zombie apocalypse. Now grab a big-azz can of chocolate pudding, your best zombie-stabbing knife, and enjoy the precious moments with your PIC to come...

Oh, and PS. I'm not spoilerin,' I swear. Just...just don't get TOO attached to anyone, y hear? Just saying.
