I had a good scare this morning.
Not a chicken scare but a garage door issue.

The house is old, that door is original. It has taken to having cables randomly pop off. It did it one time to many!
I had a horrible instant visual of it slamming down with my motorcycle part way out! It would cause a ton of damage or worse yet injury.

Tomorrows project....... Replace garage door.
:celebrate No more uber heavy wood rickety door!!

 NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO makes good bone broth... :barnie:rant
I part them out and save that part until I have enough to fill the pot.... you can roast in the oven to brown and gets good flavor and then simmer or crockpot to make the broth

actually I save all bones to make broth

Keep the feet too, they are wonderful in broth...

After you remove the leg quarters, follow the fat line along the ribs with shears, taking care not to cut the evisceral...

I've got 17-18 lined up if I can get the scalder to heat up...

Ugh, had me a big ugly cry earlier. Went to feed everyone and found Bea had passed away in the yard under a bush. I picked her up and checked her over, her belly was swollen, squishy and slightly bruised looking so something went wrong in the egg factory. She had had issues on and off since she started laying. She looked fine this morning and laid yesterday so I wasn't expecting her to peter out on me. I'm going to miss that wonky mutt she was a trip.
