Official Squatch Watchers

Haha! I volunteered at a vet for a couple of weeks and we did a cat. Not sure if my memory is correct, but he put a shot in the cat, the cat got loosed running around the room with a needle and syringe in his leg. We caught the cat, quick sedated, slice, tie a knot, cut, stitch. I could be wrong. It was a while ago. I was disturbed.
Yeah, that sounds about right. They usually don't do gas anesthesia for a cat neuter cuz it's such a quick, simple little surgery (less than 5 minutes). Prolly didn't give him enough Ketamine, poor thing!

I thought mites were species specific
eta rather genus.. bird mites stay on birds and not mammals

The northern fowl mite (Ornithonyssus sylviarum) and chicken mite (Dermanyssus gallinae) primarily infest chickens, but also pigeons, starlings and sparrows. ... They may prey on other mites and insects living on the host's skin. They can cause a mange-like condition in pets, and itching in people who handle infested pets.

Bird mites infestations can not maintain on humans and humans do not become carriers Can you transport mites on your clothing shoes etc yes but once the problem is cleared from the environment and pets then the effect on the human should be gone as well. Right now the treatment for humans centers around controlling the itching with anti-pruritic (ant itch)medications and antihistamines.

Here is some information not detailed but information none the less
