Long car ride and new environment have her wanting to hide.

Sara did it! She hatched all 3!
This is one dedicated momma. I took eggs from her for a week before she said she wasn't giving up, no matter how long she had to wait me out. Finally let her keep 6. Around day 18, I blocked her in so others couldn't get to her and the chicks. Well, she got out, but couldn't get back in. Eggs got too cold and died. So I gave her 3 that I had just put in the incubator. So this poor girl has been sitting for a good 6-7 weeks.

Those are the little Serama babies, right? (Are they smooth or silkied or is it too early to tell?)

Hey I meant to ask you...what do you crank up your bator humidity to before lockdown?

I had to candle my eggs again, today. Most are going strong on Day 9; there are a few iffy ones. And this sounds crazy, but I think I may have a twin!

Hatching is SO MUCH FUN, omg. Now I know why people do it. I love watching the really active ones swimming around; those BCs are *kickin'*!

She is super cute!!!! Like a little stuffed Beanie Baby Malamute! Are you totally in love or what? (and your son, what does he think?)

ETA: When I first saw that pic I thought she was a baby raccoon, lol!

She has been super shy every time he went to see her. Poor lil girl is going to take some extra snuggles to come out of her shell.

My son is totally taken with her. A bit worried about her shy level but I think he understands quiet time with her will help bring her around.

She's a hugger that's for sure! Sticks her head under his chin to hide.

Lol no raccoon! Just a sweet shy puppy.

I am loving it, chicks, puppy....and now...important bunny news! Panther had so much fur in with her Babies that i didn't realize she has 7 of them! OMG! ONE white black and brown spotted, two brown, and the other 4 are just as black as she is!!!

And here they are!

I put them in another nest box to get a picture. Panther was not happy. I took her out and cut her toenails. Even less happy. Cleaned her ears, well you get the idea. She is just full of milk. Babies! Now i will be forced to pick them up every day. Hee hee They have their eyes open too!

They are so cute!!!! Are the little feather-feet yellow and blue ones the frizzled splash BCs? (is that what mine will look like when they hatch?) And the stripey little chipmunkey ones OEGB??

Yes the feather feet are bantam cochin, the lightest one came out of the pen your eggs came from, but you could still get any color blue, black, or splash. We won't know if frizzle or not for a few days.
The chipmunks are OEGBs, yes. Sara's chicks came from my silkied pen, could be smooth or silkied. That takes a few days, possibly week or more to know if they will be silkied.

I imagine you'll look back at this shy stage and laugh, and I doubt it will take long for her to warm up. Beautiful!

Swimmers are good!! I set humidity around 65% usually. I'm a candle-aholic too. Guilty. Love seeing them come to life.
