Gee, I really don't count em anymore... I think I have about 40 chickens in the upper pasture and 120 in grow out pens along with 40 in the brooder.

Good morning. Hubby thinks i have "too many" birds. I have 7 turkeys, 10 adult guineas, 28 chickens, and over 100 quail. I don't count quail, they are too small to count. And i have a bunch of juvenile guineas, about 17. Plus the babies in brooders....
and this is one reason I don't have a husband :gig

I just have to worry that the county will catch on that even though I have 10 acres, it's not zoned for 13 turkey and 5 roos... and I have way more than 30 hens

I didn't think about it being trendy, that is probably it. And yeah i'm a little wary of it now. Hubs offered to put another fuse in so I could use it until the replacement comes but I passed. Refubs really use to be ok until they started trying to make repairs cheap instead of right. Of couse iv'e gotten new things that were awful right out of the box too. Stuff just isn't made well at all now.
The green is probably considered a vintage/ trendy color so it's more expensive.
I'd be worried that it'd catch fire at that point.
I had a convection toaster oven that I LOVED, then it stopped working about 6 months in. They sent me a 'refurbished' one and it had this odd electrical smell. I never felt safe using it after that and it made me angry that instead of sending me a new one, they sent me one that had been broken that they'd fixed... Fine, fix mind and send me that one back.. No, I get one w/ a completely new issue to deal with.

China wants to make us crazy one piece of junk at a time!

We have 13 acres. The quail are going to the giant swap in Glen Allen next Saturday. If they don't sell, the boys will go to freezer camp. I sell and ship hatching eggs too. That swap attracts people from at least 5 states. The last swap there were no quail left for sale early on.
Ohhh they aren't keeping animals.. so yeah, it's not really that many. I always wonder about the places who hatch and sell them. It seems like it would be exciting to hatch all those babies, but then what do you do when you get stuck w/ them... I guess it's the same problem dog & cat breeders have at times.

It is common to forget that a hen holds sperm in a gland and the sperm is good for about 30 days. Somewhere in that window, an EE jumped into the mix
I did not know that! Good info to have.

I bought SG Dorking eggs from a breeder. She had moved an Ameraucana rooster out and moved the SG Dorking rooster into the pen. She waited two weeks to start collecting eggs and one of them that I hatched was
