Do you know of hand if the color on the rooster is normal?

Definitely not normal for a white. I can't tell if he's like this because it's some new color they were working on, or if they feed him too much corn so it's causing the color, or if it's exposure to sunlight.

It also looks like he has a raging case of scaly leg mites. You might wanna get back in contact with them and let them know. Poor guy, look at his feet in that picture.

Well I forgot to add the pics, and now I can only find one... :th

Can you get a photo of him in profile? That'll be the only way to really judge. Silkies are also VERY competitive and have a hard SOP.

I did see a bunch of corn in the feed. Looked like a pellet/corn mix. The pins where also pretty exposed too. There was a coop in each pin, but the pin top had full sun exposure. Hopefully its not a color they are working on. They st least didn't mention anything about it

I didn't notice his feet. Holy crap that looks painful. Do the leg mites transfer easily on clothing? Should I be anymore concerned about getting them than normal?

Yes I can. :)
So what happened was, I had this epic batchelor dinner and crashed like a log. I didn't even have a chance to ask for the other pictures again.

Honey batter corn dogs cause I'm a man child.
Rainbow sweet pepper bridge cause I'm health minded.
Macaroni salad because I'm a comfy southern fella.
Feta cheese drizzled with balsamic vinegar because I have a refined pallet

A random picture of Mrs Blue cause I've been up since 1:30 am and don't have anything better to do. (it's not her fault she looks down on others, she's just tall)

So, yeah... I'll try and get the rest of the Silkie pictures today. Have a good one!

You only got eggs, right? I wouldn't be too worried about it if you just got eggs. If you had purchased birds, I'd tell you to go ahead and treat them for it.

It looks like his spur is coming back around and about to (or already is) grow back into his leg. They really need to do some maintenance on that poor bird.

Well, I'm gonna attempt to go back to sleep before I head to work. This virus has caused us to change the store hours and now my schedule is all weird and I'm working more days than I was before because of the shorter store hours.

Mrs Blue looks like she's got sass!
She is a sassy one. She's pretty much shares 2nd in command with Umbra (Cemani roo). She's a great hen, and lays very well, but she doesn't take flak from anyone. I can get her to fly up and perch on my arm with like 5 grains of scratch. It's cool if your expecting, a tad scary when it's by surprise. She's a good sized girl.

Yeah, it was just eggs. :)

Most of the roosters there could have used some attention. None of them where socialized at all. I don't mean "I don't pickup my roosters" more like saying "They're just protecting their girls" when evet roo try to spur them. I get that is a reality, but when 12 of 12 want to attack, I'd guess someone is ignoring the birds.

In general I wasn't very thrilled about the breeding quarters. The Emu portion was nice, clean and wide open. The chickens though where much tighter kept. The coops where smaller than I'd expect too. It might be "enough" room for them, but it really wasn't enough room. That's easy to say when my birds run loose I guess...
