Our new generation ducks are extremely chatty... it's just blah blah all day long, even when they go to sleep they keep at it for hours in the night. Very different from last year's ducks. Dunno why that is. They get food and water regularly over the day and they do have a go at it so that's probably not what they are talking about.
mine are really loud too during the day i was concerned my neighbors may not enjoy it so much lol but at night they are so quiet they do not make a peep lol

please tell us
how many hens and what ages
how many drakes and what ages

lol when I first swiped drakes it auto corrected to freaks lol lol

my flock is
6 hens @8+yr
1 hen @6yr
6 hens @1.5yr
3 hens @2-3 months
2 ‘freaks’ @2-3 months

my hope is the freaks don’t overly annoy the older hens
I have presently one large Drake only 4 months old.
3 Call Drakes- 1-5 months old and others 2 years old.
2 Hens 7 or 8 years old.
2 Hens 4 years old.
2 Hens 3 years old.
8 Hens 2 years old.
2 babies less than a month old that are one a Hen for sure and the other is questionable that are in a separate pen or in the house at night because it has been too cold right now for them to stay outside.
I have not always had this ratio as when I have had drakes that were bad boys they either were rehomed or sent down the road. I have always taken good care of the girls and it hurts to get rid of the drakes but I don't tolerate anyone getting picked on. They are all different breeds too but mine are just great about adding new ones so I am Blessed. My pen is very large and there are lots of places to hide which helps I am sure.

My experience is that all young ducks have a phase of extreme chattiness, starting with their grown-up voice for about one to two months. Then their behaviour depends on the individual duck.

@Jenbirdee - Poppy's condition won't release my thought's…
That is a terrible sickness: https://extension.psu.edu/aspergillosis-in-poultry
Warning contains pictures of dissected poultry!

They say: »…There is no treatment available for commercial flocks. Cull the affected and remove contaminated litter. …«
At least commercial-flocks, but i do hope that Poppy does not have aspergillosis! :th
one good thing

Poppy is still with us now 6 months later but still has her troubles breathing many days😮‍💨 i still give her nebulizer treatments most days and recently decided to give her a round of amoxicillin to see if it makes any difference. i think maybe it’s helping we are just on day 3. otherwise she runs around and eats and drinks, plays with the other ducks like normal., and she does drink a lot of water.
