Feels like Saturday to me :idunno. I saw a cute (?) covid video on youtube "Does anyone know what day it is?"
I always have to check the cell phone to see the date. I don't ever call anyone with it - I hate phones. But my son got it for me months ago, and my brother was able to put it on his account for $ 10 a month. I have a landline and like it just line for 50 years. Only use it to make appointments. It rings 4 times before asking callers to leave a message. Mostly get hangups.
I think Mrs BY Bob has had day of the week issues since being laid off. She won't admit it but I think she has lost track this week.

The usual suspects. There isn't any bickering about who roosts where when they roost in the trees.

Question Shad: Do they bunch up more in the trees when it gets cold? Or do they keep that amount of space between them? I had 14 on the same roost last night. No~one could sneeze or turn around & the only ones really comfortable 'cause they could snuggle under someone's wing, were the bantams. :idunno

I haven't noticed any pattern in behaviour regarding spacing that could be attributed to weather conditions.
But, it doesn't get that cold here and when it does they go into their coops. Same when it's raining.
They are quite deliberate about their roosting choices which is why the recalcitrant ones can be very irritating. On warm evenings it is quite apparent they would much rather roost in the trees.
Youngsters almost always want to roost in the trees. This is partly because after a certain level of maturity they are prevented from roosting in the coops by the adults until the adults have settled. The youngsters seem to anxious at a particular light level and want to be off the ground.
My belief is with regard to their health, excluding predation, they are a lot better off in the trees.
Despite there being a range of branch thicknesses and positions they tend to pick the same small range of branches each time and all the branches are of a small enough diameter for them to curl their toes around.

Thanks, Shad. It doesn't get that cold here either but all the Campines are prepared to scrabble on backs until they can force a space. While it is still mild, as it is @ present, the coop front remains completely open & there are plenty of roosting choices, & lots of air flow but though it is obvious some nights they are too hot it is rare for anyone to voluntarily give up a top position.

I am definitely losing track of day of the week. The guy comes to collect the trash/rubbish on Tuesday so that is my anchor point. I had an argument with a work colleague yesterday who said he would finish something at the weekend and I told him that wasn’t soon enough. He pointed out it was only a day away! Sigh.

Mrs BY Bob lost her job? That sucks. :(:hugs
Thank you. She was laid off at the beginning of the COVID quarantine. It bothered her greatly at first and she was obviously distressed for at least a week. A lot of laying around and eating. She is up and doing things now. However it does appear that she is going to move her retirement date forward after this. I think she is starting to adapt to not going to work every day.

Bea just brought me coffee. :caf Happy Saturday!
