We are ok as of right now. Backwater from the river has one way out of my holler closed. If we get the rain forecasted tonight, we could have trouble. My area is affected the most when the backwater rises and a storm comes. I'm very worried about power outages, there is mudslides and tree's down. If I disappear for a few days it is most likely due to that.
I don’t know why Mother Nature is trying to accomplish what the virus failed at… but sometimes lately it really does feel like the world is literally out to get humanity. Stay safe, floods suck, and getting stranded by them is awful. Keep your feed high and dry and hunker down… only 8 more years to go until a new decade! (I have resolved to to make resolutions or expect a new year to make things better… lol now I’m setting ten year goals 😉 more wiggle room)

I’ll try to pay my chicken taxes… I’m dying a different photo every five attempts to load it, and holding my phone just ‘so’ at a 37degree angle towards the booster antenna.

Scarface! And the cause of the goat/chicken issues. Note the little perfectly centred black dot? Yeah I’m already thinking it’s another boy…

They fluff and circle it (not going to start saying him just yet, I’ll give it a few weeks) and have nearly squashed ‘her’ (don’t think it’s helping…) several times. And Greenfoot (yes I held back two meat girls again)

It’s hot, but I’m okay. I’m busy feeding the mosquitoes 🦟! :barnie
No using the M word… I’ve been hiding from a heatwave with the chickens and goats in the forest and am getting eaten alive. I’m covered in welts and have been killing dozens of the buggers at night while they attack me. DH is bringing home some off spray, I don’t care what’s in it I would literally bathe in toxins at this point if it will keep them away!

The mosquitoes are enough to eat you alive here. The horses have been tearing around, guess I better get the bug dope out for tomorrow....

Too bad chickens don't eat mosquitoes haha!
My chickens eat mosquitoes, maybe not a ton of it, but they often catch mosquitoes in the air while lap sitting on my husband.

How are Bella & Gucci today, @RoyalChick & @BY Bob ?

Hoping Gucci got a bit more trimming so she can see better...and that you were right that a big part of her issue was feathers blocking her sight.

And Bella, beautiful Bella...I'm hoping you are eating reasonably well again, and that your crop on down is moving like it should. (Just think, if you get the system 'moving' like it should, it means you can 'deposit' a commemorative 💩 right on your mom as she feeds you...tell her it wasn't YOUR fault...she was the one forcing food in, which forced 'other stuff' out!:gig)
You know I had this very same discussion with my mother three times today. She’s not eating properly, at all now that she’s on the other side of the island and not getting one family meal daily. A slice of toast and two cups of tea isn’t “eating”, or a couple crackers and cheese. 🤦‍♀️
Tax Tailless and psghetti water pot from my lunch and Arduinna’s “goat tea” treat. She doesn’t really want to drink the bottled water, but if it cooked her favorite meal… it’s yummy!

And gratuitous Spoiled goat pic for Mrs By Bob!

I have half been considering not kicking all the barn swallows out of my house… simply for this reason. Last year while DH was in Hospital I had to evict a “night bird” from the RV. Little bat was just trying to help me I’m sure! But yeah the “how the heck do I get this outside” was a fun late night phone call for the roommates in his ward.
