Never underestimate the power of a little chicken. Dakota has finally decided to stay inside with me tonight. Crazy redheads! 869847A8-BA51-40CA-9AD6-F32F827257D9.jpeg

I remember Raven as a little chick. Inquisitive and polite. Wow do things change!
Raven may be known for loudly voicing her opinion or complaints when it comes to egg laying and occupied nest boxes. Her crooked comb may also give her a stern expression and she is opinionated on who sleeps beside her on the roost. Once you get past all that, Raven is actually a good hen. She is not a in your lap hen, but will happily sit beside you and allow a few crop rubs and back strokes. She is pushy when it comes to treats and makes sure she gets her fair share. When not broody, she lays a large egg regularly like her mother Henrietta. Both Raven and Blueberry hold a special place in my heart as being Henrietta's daughter and granddaughter. I wish I had known I was going to set the girls ahead of time. I would have kept the Raven and Blueberry eggs to set. I only had 1 of each girls eggs to set so fingers crossed for those 2 to hatch.

I have frozen eggs before. I beat all the eggs up in a blender, poured them in a muffin tray. I filled 12 cells of the tray with 18 eggs. After eggs all frozen, I put all 12 "egg muffin" in a ziplock bag.

The taste: after eggs thawed out, it looked kinda weird, but it tasted good after scrambled. I didn't really sense a difference from freshly scrambled eggs.

About muffin tray: it was hard to dig frozen eggs out of each cell. If I do it again, I might use some silicon ice trays that makes big ice cubes.

I am doing water glass eggs now. 😃
Thank you for this info. I saw 2, 4 cell silicon ice cube trays (I think large enough 'cells' to hold 2 large eggs (I would love it if they will hold 2 jumbo eggs as then I could freeze 2 duck eggs per cell) I will pick them up next time I am out and try freezing some!

I should look back and remind you what you said about Raven! You said that she’s gonna be trouble, but I knew that at first glance at her. Even Raven wasn’t your first choice of names either. But she sure is a special hen now, isn’t she?!
