Warning @RoyalChick ! Naked chicken picture below!

Hey BYBob, the moulting contest is still going. I don't think Alice will win though. She has to contend against entries like this

I got confused and posted this on Ribh's thread by mistake. Lucky people getting a double dose!

P.S. They say judging will happen around the end of January 2021

I'm so sorry Kris. That sounds sooooo frustrating and exasperating.

My best wish for you is that they will decide to retire and hand the management of the animals over to you and hubs.:fl:fl:fl

(And they all go to Argentina or somewhere else far away from you.)
Yes, send them to Argentina or somewhere. Same wish for @Shadrach's family. :fl

So thankful to have control of my life, home and animals, at least for now. :D

Well FIL liked Cuba but in thinking Iceland for the Aunts. One has been and liked it... please... though it may be too chilly for Shadrach’s familial complications

Red Tail Hawks? Yikes. They are HUGE. We have Coopers, Sharp Shinned and Red Shouldered. Red Tails do live here, but I’ve only seen them over my yard a couple times. I have heard their distinct call several times. Our biggest raptors are Golden Eagles, Bald Eagles and Great Horned Owls, though sitings from my yard are rare.
sounds a lot like here, but barred owls are the nastiest I’ve had to face so far. We have great Grey’s but so far they have been ok. The Ravens are now trying to pretend to be chickens... apparently they like the feed and if the land and walk up on the free ranging flock there aren’t any alarms. It’s a hey that’s a different looking hen? Sort of situation

Quiz Time: What kind of chicken is Ned?
OK. I’ll play. He is all of the below:
- a long-legged stunner (LLS)
- an orange-legged adventurer (OLA)
- a barred rock (BR)
Did I get it right?
His feather pattern looks like BR, but his long orange legs look like no other breed than Stanley. So he might perhaps be a Bitsa after all.

Yup. They are very large and have no fear of humans at all. There are way too many around my house these days. On a calm clear day you can hear them calling out in the distance. I know that @CrazyChookChookLady has seen a Bald Eagle up her way. I've never seen one around my house. Nor have I seen any Owls but I know they are around.

For me, arial attacks will come from red trailed Hawks almost exclusively. Its a hard lesson I learned when one of them killed Dolly while she was out free ranging.

My gosh. I can't believe that would happen to any chicken. Yes, I think poor Alice is not going to beat that poor chicken.

Ravens are very smart. I can see them mimicking chickens for feed.
