Happy Caturday

Someone please advise me, is there an official Caturday thread? I am never sure she to post these.

I am no longer penned in by him but I did get Caturday help with the red ink mark up.
my question is how come he stayed snowy white and everything else is covered in red ink?!

Oh I am so glad you think they are worth thinking about. I was worried you would think I was being presumptuous by doing that (and yes, red is for clarity of mark-up not angry)!
I don't think Option B is the best because of the match-up at the front (I think the row house look rather than the attempt to perfectly align at the front is going to be a better look), but even if you don't have 4 feet you can stop short of the grape vine and dog-leg into the back run on the side.
Also, I picked 4' because it is half a standard lumber length and roomy enough for 2 chickens to roost - but of course you can always make it 3' and just have more waste.
:)
I'm thinking of extending the porch into the entire run extension. Not having a removable porch will make things very difficult as far as cleaning goes.

Did you consider expanding the other side of the coop or run?

The answer is simple, because he is a cat. Mine are never messy no matter what they get into. 🤷‍♂️

Yes - I did think of going the other side and doing a straightforward Coop extension. But I was less sure of the space there - and you need to be able to access the nest boxes so that can't be too inconvenient (think rain and slush and maneuvering around the extension) and you can't 'complete the square' to the run unless you move the nest boxes which felt like a lot of work.

Today is not a good day. When I went to the coop this morning Stanley was dead. I have no idea what happened. He was completely fine yesterday. It's quite a shock.

Ned has some big feathers to fill...
OMG CCCL that is terrible. I am so very sorry. :( He was such a wonderful rooster in so many ways.
Big hugs for you, and when you are ready, do please consider doing a bit of a photo tribute to him here. I think all of us on this thread have become huge Stanley fans.
:hugs :hugs :hugs
