That looks like it would be a useful book to have!
I assume it contains remedies as well.
I've only dipped into it so far but some of the remedies include culling.
Practical I know but a bit of a downer on a first skim. šŸ˜•

That's not to hopeful. It would however be a short book if that is the only option. Why bother covering all the illnesses of the only solution is culling?

Th
I'm glad they helped you to visualize.

My advice to @MaryJanet , you cannot take too many pictures when they are building the new complex. I kind of wrote the article around the pictures I took. At the time I knew I would do a coop article so I thought why not document everything so I don't regret missing something. I am hoping that paid off. It seems like it did for you.
Thanks mate! Hmmm maybe I will set a few reminders in my phone so I don't forget in all the excitement šŸ¤”

@BY Bob, I sketched out a couple of options for expansion of Fluffy Butt Acres on top of your current plans.
The first option has two variants, one more ambitious than the other.
Apologies for the blobby red pen. There is now more red ink on my hands and face than on the pages - but hopefully you can see what I was thinking.
Option Ai is a no-brainer, but personally I think A.ii. is the best compromise in terms of space, appearance from the house, and work required.
You may not have space to do Option B for the run (though you could step it down to fit in at the back), but my bigger worry with B is that the extension will never look like it matches the original so will look wonky from the house. In option A you make a feature of the Annex being separate from the original, and it has the added benefit of providing an isolation option if you need it.
It should provide room for 2 more chickens (though if you believed BYC you could cram in 4 more, but I know you won't do that).
I think I know how to upload as pdf files if that is easier for you.
And yes, I am fully aware I am enabling. It is what I do.

Well now. These are definitely something to consider. My compliments on the use of a red pen, blotchy or not. I love the contrast of red especially when I am marking up a contract or other document. I get grief because it is considered an angry color. I feel it is much easier to see the changes.

I'll have to measure but I'm pretty certain I don't have 4 feet to extend the run to the right because of the grape vines so Option B may be out. I need to give these due consideration.

You have started my brain rolling. I'm already modifying Option Aii in my head! My I love a build. šŸ˜† 🤣 There is something wrong with me!

Oh I am so glad you think they are worth thinking about. I was worried you would think I was being presumptuous by doing that (and yes, red is for clarity of mark-up not angry)!
I don't think Option B is the best because of the match-up at the front (I think the row house look rather than the attempt to perfectly align at the front is going to be a better look), but even if you don't have 4 feet you can stop short of the grape vine and dog-leg into the back run on the side.
Also, I picked 4' because it is half a standard lumber length and roomy enough for 2 chickens to roost - but of course you can always make it 3' and just have more waste.
:)
