Ok, bear with me. It’s hard to explain the difference with my 2 girls earlobes. Their combs are different so why not ears too 🤭
Snow has what I have seen in my chicken experience- red and as they age the lobes get longer and more defined for want of a better word.

Now Belle’s are paler and they kinda look like just flat pink circles (with a cute little tuft above each hehe) it’s just strange. She has no issues with hearing the back door open which usually means scraps being tossed out on the lawn.

They don’t seem to be growing at all. I’m not worried, it’s just another tick in the unique box for my baby girl perhaps ☺️
Sorry pics aren’t great, found it hard to get a good shot of lobes 😂
My Roadrunners had blue earlobes. Now they are mottled blue with white. I need to go look more closely because maybe now they are a bit red too. I forget.

I too have a fetish about my chickies earlobes... My silkies have lovely blue ones.

Then my other gals have a mix of white, grey, and blueish. I find it very interesting the different colours they have.

I’m not in Sydney but that sounds pretty worrying!
Rats. I forgot where you live 🤦‍♀️

It is. They won't open beds because they're trying to run the hospitals cheaper but it's obviously a false logic. From someone who works within the Dept, it seems senior administrator egos are very much in the mix.

I used to be a Nurse....

Even here Nurses this day and age are seriously lacking in proper 'hands on care'. They have too much theory (read university training), and not enough practicum (read old fashioned training).

Anyways I guess that is what they call progress. Used to be we had community nurses (I was one) now it seems that is no more...

One thing I am certain of: best decision I ever made was to get out Nursing! Better pay, benefits, holiday, etc in the real world.
There are community nurses where I live, the RDNS. They're awesome. But they see far fewer patients than a nurse in a hospital and they don't work shifts.

Understood!

Don’t get your hopes up too high.
I figured that I wouldn’t be getting any chicks from Arizona. She’s a good little hen, but so young too. Maybe none of those eggs were fertile, or maybe a stray cat got the babies, I don’t know, I wasn’t here. Arizona is still grieving about her eggs. And this bird needs a bath really bad!:sick Too cold to give her one. She’s in the chickens room for tonight.

I’m going out and get Jaffar now!

Is Phyllis a Silkie? My silkies are very cute a sweet but sometimes dumb as stumps.... I never trust them outside alone, and I regularly trim their head feathers so they can see, otherwise they run into things.... 😁
No. Phyllis is a Polish.
