I wouldn't mind being able to soak up some 'sun heat' at the moment, that's for sure!!

It is nothing but sunbathing beauties today. We are up to 48°F, 8.8°C!

I agree Ester doesn't much look like a Barred Rock ~ but then strange mutations do happen.

This is Patricia.
She is a Barred Rock but something went wrong in the gene pool. Her breeder thought she might come good after her moult but 2 moults & she still looks like this.
She looks & stands more like a rooster than a hen & her comb & wattles are really large.
None of which is helping but odd things do happen.

@Rihb I believe She is a white sport! That is supposedly how White rocks started...a white sport from the barred rocks. For some reason (?maybe particular hatchery lineage?) All the white rocks I have owned have been slightly larger than my BRs, and have larger combs and wattles!

Thank you for that information. Sadly I no longer have her. She had a terrible prolapse & we couldn't save her.

What’s wrong with my chickens? It’s a nice sunny day, but they all want to be under the porch. They did their rounds all around the yard. I don’t see any dust bathing, or digging. Crazy birds

A warm day and everything is turning to mud as the snow melts.
I managed to clean Maggie’s poop-berg out of the nest box.
Diana braves the snow. She is looking glorious with all her new feathers.
