You can never have too many chicks & chickens (well, you can, but that's beside the point
...) If she is that steadfastly broody, she should accept them (?or is there a history I don't know about??)
If Baby will accept them she can have a couple. I do not know if she will accept any as this is her first time being broody and she is only 7 months old. In a perfect situation I will have the Corona chicks I want to hatch plus maybe a yellow feathered leg chick. In the long run, this year I want 1 Corona daughter with feathered feet to keep, plus that feather feet yellow chick I tried to hatch out unsuccessfully last year. I know from my cousin now that it can be done. The yellow head spot is indicative of barring. That chick will be barred to some degree. I've seen olive Eggers barred (pinstripes), cuckoo marans, barred rocks, dominiques (rose combs), and it's frequently used in sex-link/auto-sexing too.Monday Mugs:

They move so fast it is hard to get a non-blurry photo!
I'm beginning to think that my 3rd "white egg layer" is actually oone of my black chicks, nt a chipmunk, and that I was shorted a BCM, not a Welsummer. Not all the marans have feathers on their feet, so I didn't think twice at first. However, you will notice that in the first photo above, one black chick has a little yellow on the top of her head. She is the only one....I'm beginning to think she isn't a BCM, as no pics of BCM babies have that.....

The refinishing bug bites again! Mwahahaha…. Happy sanding! I actually find refinishing furniture relaxing… I’ve got this beautiful walnut vintage corner desk I picked up for $10 as my first rebuilding from nothing in my 20’s piece. It took me 10 years to get around to finishing it but, so worth it.I'm so excited....

Well, it is my official Chicken Run Chair!!! It is perfect...sturdy, roomy seat with arm for me (knees and hips are bad, so arm for getting up is a huge win) AND...it has an attached side table for the hens that want to be close but not held!!! I'm in love with it. Now, just a bit of light sanding and some eurathane...and a cheap seat cushion...and we will be ready to go.
What a fantastic piece! And yes, totally perfect for chicken visiting - even for medical examination.I'm so excited....
