Only reason I'm on here is I'm taking a 5 minute coffee break. That is a funny mental image. We are trying, and everyone is helping but it feels like no matter how hard we try someone is suffering for it. The poor horses look neglected. Louis and Russ are in the middle of blowing their winter coats and unlike last year we have not had time to go daily and curry them for about a hour.

You are only human....you can only do what you can do. It is amazing, again, that you are holding it together with everything going on.

Sorry for the chuckle...you are doing so well holding it together ❤️...but I had an image of a headless chicken running around with a pitch fork trying to muck a horse stall! (yes, my brain sometimes goes strange places.) I couldn't contain my giggle!
Remember Mr Bean and the Christmas Turkey episode hahaha, too funny

When you said headless pitchfork bearing chicken for some reason that popped in my head haha

This is the best it looks like we are getting here today for FBF…

Everyone else is being uncooperative and getting in sunbathing while they can

I tried to get a pic of the little black chick as well but as soon as the camera came out mom decided she didn’t mind sitting on her. If only she had done that with the little yellow one 😡

Good Question. Yes 27 is a lot, but not as many as last spring when I had 29 hatch. Between my 2 broody hens I've given them 4 chicks as grow outs. As far as incubator hatching goes as far as chickens this will be my only hatching. The other 23 are in the brooder and have been listed already. I will keep them as long as it takes to find homes for them. I have cleaned the incubator and letting it air dry. If as planned my sawdust guy delivers me the Guinea eggs, I will try to incubate those for him, but as soon as they hatch he is going to pick them up.
Oh I see! Are chicks a big part of your income stream? Do you sell fertile eggs too? How do you navigate the pet/livestock divide? I imagine it can be tricky sometimes. Sorry for being so curious. It's a very different lifestyle to my own and I'm fascinated. If I'm over-stepping just ignore me.
