Oh no! How tragicThanks for caring. But no not him. My neighbor (good one) lost her grandson in a head on crash I was there to comfort her and help her cope with the funeral.

I tried to get a pic of the little black chick as well but as soon as the camera came out mom decided she didn’t mind sitting on her. If only she had done that with the little yellow one![]()

Something I'm trying to develop is capacity for taking more on when loved ones need me to.Only reason I'm on here is I'm taking a 5 minute coffee break. That is a funny mental image. We are trying, and everyone is helping but it feels like no matter how hard we try someone is suffering for it. The poor horses look neglected. Louis and Russ are in the middle of blowing their winter coats and unlike last year we have not had time to go daily and curry them for about a hour.
I would love guinea fowl, and peacocks, and an emu, a camel....Good Question. Yes 27 is a lot, but not as many as last spring when I had 29 hatch. Between my 2 broody hens I've given them 4 chicks as grow outs. As far as incubator hatching goes as far as chickens this will be my only hatching. The other 23 are in the brooder and have been listed already. I will keep them as long as it takes to find homes for them. I have cleaned the incubator and letting it air dry. If as planned my sawdust guy delivers me the Guinea eggs, I will try to incubate those for him, but as soon as they hatch he is going to pick them up.
It's hard isn't itSomething I'm trying to develop is capacity for taking more on when loved ones need me to.
My habit (a bad one) is to fill almost all of my time with commitments. Then I'm not available when others need me.
I'm trying to free up 3-4 hours a day. Or transfer that time to things I can quit at a moment's notice.
Heart because I struggle with that divide constantly.Oh I see! Are chicks a big part of your income stream? Do you sell fertile eggs too? How do you navigate the pet/livestock divide? I imagine it can be tricky sometimes. Sorry for being so curious. It's a very different lifestyle to my own and I'm fascinated. If I'm over-stepping just ignore me.

It really is.It's hard isn't it
For me it's work, I took on this job to have more free time for my family and pets, but I have less time now.
I want to do stuff for my mum but getting pulled away by work and doing chores. Thankfully she can do a lot of stuff herself! But then the guilt sets in!
Boy oh boy I owe lots of chicken tax tonight
