Speaking of Ezzie. I have to face it, Ezzie is imprinted on people, she will abandon her sisters when she sees one of us. Here are a few things Ezzie has NOT learned now that she can free range all day.
1. She has NOT learned to follow me in the back door if it is opened.
2. She has NOT learned if I catch her inside that I will pick up up for cuddles.
3. She has NOT learned that if she comes inside that there are special treats given that she does not have to share.
I honestly have not tried to see if she'll watch tv with me like Branch does. I think there is just some things that I can only share with my little buddy. Then again, 2 tv buddies is better then 1.
Oh and she has NOT learned all the behaviors in under a weeks time.
And I have NOT decided to give this post a like, or a love ❤️!

I think Ezzie has been communicating with your flock. They have told her if she keeps it up I will break over and make her a special roost inside so she does not have to sleep with the other chickens. I am so lucky only 1 room in the house still has carpet. Unfortunately it is my bedroom. The weather is so nice that the doors are being left open, it is not hot enough yet to turn on the AC. I have several that take the opportunity to do a walk about, although they are gently herded back out when spotted. I have only had to clean up 1 accident so far this spring.

It can snow all 12 months of the year...unusual, but it happens....not usually all the same year...2018 did see snow all 12 months in Montana....it helps keep the tourists under control.
Crossing Montana off of the “places to visit” list… 🤣 nope, nope, nope… May through November should be s*** free, thank you!

I might have this issue with one of my 2 year old hens. I've found 2 soft shelled eggs on the poop board. Thought I knew who it was, then wasn't sure.

My girls aren't cuddly, so no opening the beak and stuffing in a Citrical. I have to disguise it as a treat some way. Still working on that method. I'll let you know if I find something that works well.

They eat 20% all flock and have access to both egg shells and oyster shell on the side. The one good thing: No one has discovered how tasty eggs are. Whew!
My worry was at first that it was two gals as at one point I was getting two eggs like this over night.

And an update (I started this msg this morning) - Blanche was sitting in the box and when she got out I checked too see if she actually laid an egg and she did. It was one of the thin shelled, it had broken and was all over her feathers and the two other eggs in the box.

I was thrown off as the shell colour was a pale blue and Blanche's eggs are chocolaty brown olive coloured.

Sophia has also been laying eggs that are very pale in colour, but the shell seems ok - though I think one of her eggs a couple weeks ago was more fragile and I broke it, I thought accidentally.

I think Penelope laid an today it's a large blue one and I know buttercup laid hers (my only other blue ones) in another box, as I grabbed it after she came off the nest. It could be one from Dorothy but I thought she was laying olive coloured eggs.

Well I wonder what gives now? Blanche and Sophia are only 2 years old, I wouldn't expect them to have too many issues with eggs yet...

See this is another reason I need to be working from home! So I can see who is laying what, when! It's all about priorities... And my pets have priority!

Hahaha

My kiddos know the 'get out' phrase!

I don't let them in the feedroom anymore they make a mess, eat my plants in there, and most importantly that is where I am putting mouse bait.

Even still tho, if I turn my back to normal they go! And run back out when I turn and see them, I think it's now a game for them.
