I received the dreaded phone call. Arizona was poisoned by eating a mouse. Her digestive system shut down due to rat poison contained in a mouse, found in her digestive tract. She didn’t stand a chance, against the quick acting poison.

But what bothers me the most, is the neighbors chickens all seem to be doing fine. If I have mice in the yard, his yard is sure to have them also. So where are the poisoned mice coming from? And who is stupid enough to be using poison around chickens anyways?

Oh no. At least you know something more than you did. Poor Arizona.

The neighbor with the chickens that are doing fine isn't the nasty neighbor is it? Perhaps you could talk to the neighbor with the chickens and see if s/he knows anything about it. Maybe you could even join up with them to ask the other neighbors not to use rat poison.
I am so sorry - this is all just too awful.

Surprisingly enough no! But the grass is growing like crazy! My fences are about 5' high and that brome grass is as tall or taller than the fence!!

Buttercup got out of the temporary run and got into the tall grass and got stuck hahahaha

I had to go rescue her!

Phyllis should be coming to the end of her broody soon I hope.

It's like an epidemic! One gets broody and before you know it 4 are down hahaha!!

How many porcelain chicks is she going to hatch? I’m not positive that any of Xzit’s eggs are even fertile.

Oh Alex so sorry to hear this

I hate these new class pesticides, they should not have been developed.

The old class were much safer for wildlife, cats and likely chickens/birds.

Also pesticides should only be used inside a location not outside where the mice and rats can get away ....

This is just so worrying, have you mentioned to your neighbours?

I don't let mine eat them I am too worried they would be poisonous!
