I didn't know that about ad blockers. I use one partly to stop 3rd parties accessing my info. Any site I take it off on I get my junk inbox swamped. I need to look into a premium membership. Whether I can afford it is another thing...Mr Bob heres the post
Seems harmless enough now. It's the infrastructure I worry about. How about that DNA database they are building on Ancestry.com and the like.I think it is also a side affect of some people’s careers...not complaining mind you, but most of my acquaintances working in tech fields tend to be more aware of the targeted advertising, and collection of personal information. I for the most part couldn’t care less if google knows I need a new mattress because my mic is turned on and I’m griping about my bed being uncomfy
and the random fridge ads? How does Facebook know I need a fridge for eggs? And really do I care? It is interesting... the ads here aren’t targeted for me, yet... I’m half wondering how long it will take for them to hone in on my interests and desires, it’s kind of an experiment
oh and the rodent control ads were awesome! And reasonably local to me businesses too...
I just did that too. Not expensive. $60/year which is a mere $5/mo. Not much to ask.I didn't know that about ad blockers. I use one partly to stop 3rd parties accessing my info.
