I’ve got 8 birds, that I’d consider 75% “gimme some darned eggs” and 20% “pet”. Though, that ratio seems to be slowly creeping closer towards the”pet” end of the scale. Only one has a name. It’s Lazy Susan... because she has a lazy eye.

I love the name Lazy Susan. Can we see some photos?

I'm not sure if this is the thread or not myself but she fascinates me. Her legs are better. Do you think you will ever fix them all the way?

I don't think so Bob. But, if she's like her half brother Mag, then in about six months time when the new scales have grown in I'll have a better idea.

I'm going to chime in on the Scotch discussion too. I had a lovely single malt a few years back when there was a little more spending money (before I took on the big, old slightly decrepit house). I think it was Islay. At present I only have blends on the bar and they're so unappetizing after the Islay I'll probably never finish them I tried a Japanese scotch once and it was very good. Has anyone tried a single malt distilled in Australia, especially Tasmania? The water is very good down there, clean melt water, and there are several distilleries making great scotch. I particularly liked Hellyers Road's 15yo.

Right! I'm going to put on my indignant hat! If it doesn't come from Scotland it isn't Scotch Whiskey.
The Japanese and the Australians may make some excellent single malt whiskeys; I wouldn't know because I wouldn't buy them on principle. However, they are not Scotch!

They’re good; Charlie got through her hard moult. Nyssa is moulting now but not as hard as Charlie. I’m hoping Lucy has got egg-laying out of her system and stopped again! How are your ladies and Peggy’s enzymes?

All four seem to be ok. But this morning I found a mouse in the henhouse! So I destroyed its nest and rearranged the things so there are no more hidey holes. I imagine the whole mousey family are hiding out in the woodshed.
