I think COVID has had a lot of people working extra without pay. My husband works in Healthcare IT and was getting programming in for hospitals to track cases. It was done knowing it wasn't going to be paid for and there was even a paycut for a little while. There is value in doing things for the greater good but it doesn't seem to get the recognition it deserves.
So true. Let's keep all those generous people in our thoughts and if we happen to know one or meet one, we can give them the warm thanks and appreciation that aren't possible through the systems of their workplaces.
