And your water is so picturesque. We got about 6" of rain with the storm and then another minor storm yesterday - but everything is just mud. No pretty paddling pools!Aren’t they?! Clean butts too!
Why does the heat make for dirty butts? I will go and do a Princess butt inspection this afternoon - but we were out together on the lawn investigating the war-zone and I didn't notice any dirt.We need to do some butt cleaning this weekend ourselves. Lots of dirty butts from all the heat.
Sydney looks particularly caught out and unhappy about the situation! Why so Many Posts this Morning BY Bob?
Work this week ate me up. I noticed a lot of interesting things this week with the flock that I want to share. I probably should hold on to one or two so each gets discussion time. I dislike it when interesting things get passed over because I posted too many at once. In fact, that's it. Let's discuss what I have posted so far.
I will close with a photo of a bunch of sad chickens who got caught out in a torrential downpour yesterday. Ned and Lucky are partially hidden in the background and Phyllis took shelter next to the house. Her tail is visible on the left. Hattie was in the nesting box laying an egg at the time. Good timing on her part.

All of the diarrhea from them trying to keep cool in the extreme heat had created some messy butts. I think im going to do a large galvanized trough of water and have some fun with everyone. Why does the heat make for dirty butts? Sydney does not normally mind the rain but it was nasty. She wound up under a chair that is not water proof so she was still getting dripped upon.Sydney looks particularly caught out and unhappy about the situation!
We've had it too Lozzy. It bucketed down for 2 days straight & even though I opened the gate the girls huddled under the coop & complained. LOUDLY!We had a shocking couple of days rain-wise today and yesterday. I thought I’d share some pictures of my girls channeling their inner duck.
