The other good thing in the argument for isolation is is you are dealing with a potential infectious disease! How I missed point that basic reason out earlier in my post is mind boggling. Especially with the whole social distancing and all with the little pandemic situation?

We have been put on another two week lockdown here, after a recent spike. Some of the health order makes sense but other aspects? None at all. Don’t see anyone socially before or after work, you’re only permitted contact with those in your immediate household, but send your kid to high school with 2000 other kids? Give your head a shake B.C. government! Take public transit into work, but don’t see a friend for tea?

I have some repairs to do, I was trapped in the barn for over an hour I had to climb through the rafters to the other side to get released... they pulled the hay bales out from under me, so I went up, then they pulled out the bales I would have used to climb down stranding me. The other door is a slide bolt, so I couldn’t even open it from the inside! Outmaneuvered by Bovines

I just read this, it is excellent - very good, informative, compassionate, but scary, too! Wow. Decompressing the egg is not something I think I could do. But being aware and on the alert for it, and then getting her to a vet I can do. And to care for her afterward, yes, done that, been there with our other animals. Very helpful article (yes I rated it!).

I bought one because I wanted to show my support and to help keep the forum funded! I really haven't done anything else with it and I'm not witty enough to come up with a proper byline for myself...lol

I did the same thing. After I was here awhile I bought one because I wanted to support this site! Gotta keep BYC going!

Gus is about 2000lbs, he’s still got a lot of growing to do, not huge by Giant Land Chicken Standards, but a fairly decent size nonetheless. Definitely too big to be in the Chicken Trailer!

Not much to say today. The most exciting thing was Le Rat in the coop.

I was outside with them over 5 hours today. There was one incident which happened behind me. I think it was Aurora squawking but I can't be sure. Aurora is still limping. At roosting time Phyllis got some pecking from Hattie. Aurora bothered no one all day that I could tell.

Once again Sansa was in Hattie's face when Hattie was eating out my hand today. Sansa was verbally warned and then pecked this time. She was pecked twice before she gave up.

The the older hens seemed sluggish today. It was a chilly dreary day. The three young hens were moving pretty good. The older three did a lot of sitting. Of course the older three were brawling the other day.
