I like that idea until the shrubs regrow. I think the chickens would look rather stylish lounging around under some beach umbrellas.

With little beach towels and a drink each with a little cocktail umbrella in it.

Egg Video Update

So earlier I posted a video of Dorothy in the box and Lucky in the corner. Both girls laid. This is Lucky’s first egg since molt. So cute!

Who would like to see what evil looks like?
I don't mean some grand design, magnificent biblical type evil. I mean petty, spitefull, pathetic evil.

As some of you know, not all is well in the apparent paradise in Catalonia. Covid hasn't helped. Some people who were already on the edge do not have the mental strengh to keep from tipping. The chickens have become an issue during the last year, as have all the animals. The noise, the mess, the monotany if you are not fundamentally fond of animals is wearing. The chickens in particular have become a flash point, mainly because nobody else can do a thing with them. The whole story is rather sad, especially for the chickens. I won't dwell on the details. One person in the main house hates me and therfore the chickens. There isn't much one can do about me. I'm not an easy target. The chickens on the other hand are.
After an unpleasant exchange with this particular person, I left to get some feed for the animals.

This place has been for the entire time I've been here a favourite shelter spot for Tribe 2 and 3.

I think the orange snow fencing and a selection of garish brellies woven into it would be awesome! That’s about as far a retaliation as I think is doable... anything more would just make things worse. Just as I will no longer express any interest or suggestions on the cattle here, as that just puts the mentioned cow on the “next to process, even if we said we weren’t going to” list. People willing to endanger, harm, or threaten animals out of spite can’t really be reasoned with.
I owe so much back chicken pics taxes now...

That's awful Shad. I'm so sorry this has happened.

Did they try and spout some spurious justification for what they did? I hope they got lots of splinters.

Most of you have seen the picture of Fat Bird and Ruffles in this bush. It's a favourite spot for Tribe 1.
I was just in time to remove the shears from the person resonsible for the damage in the picture above befor they cut any more.

I was a bit worried for you when you said you removed the shears from them. I wouldn't want to be around an angry Shad holding a sharp pointy object! I'm glad you didn't do anything hasty.......I hope

Are all the gardening tools now hidden away or locked up?

At least it wasn't poisoned. Hopefully it will grow back thick and lush in the spring. (and give the Troll hay fever)

Tribe 1 were upset by the whole business and headed for the safety of my house where they huddled in the corner. They know evil when they feel it.

Evil does exist in the world. It comes in many forms. @Shadrach was right when he called this evil.

I once heard evil described as an absence of love.

If your heart has no room for compassion and empathy because it is full of fear and hate it will manifests itself as evil.
