That is so nice but not as significant as if you invited Aurora to live at the Palace, šŸ˜†

Yikes! She is definitely an intimidating looking hen. I don't think any of my Princesses would be a match for her. Even Maggie is more bark than bite and in general they are all rather chill. They wouldn't know what had hit them!

Gosh, the way you speak, you'd think Aurora was a problem hen or something :gig

She offers one choice to all she meets: obey the beak or rue the day.

Lots of excitement at the Chicken Palace today
Today was a bit eventful for the Princesses. A young fox jumped on top of their pasture run and sent them scattering all in a fluster

Once they regrouped inside the Chicken Palace they felt safety in numbers and spent a long time putting their feathers back to rights.

Each time I think of letting them free range I get reminded why I don't. I think I will leave the electric fence on during the day for the next few days.

OMG you are right, leave it on, so they learn it's not a good idea to get close!

They do indeed seem to learn. If I have it switched on for a few nights I go many weeks with nobody approaching.
The fox in this video looks very young to me so definitely needs schooling!
I have also had two juvenile raccoons who visit at night (if I don't switch it on) and they need a lesson too.
I will leave it on 24 hours for the next week.

Are foxes edible? just asking

That's good news Bob. It's what I'm waiting for from Fudge atm.
It was such a frightening time. I need to thank you again for your cool headed advice on what to do. Yours was the calm voice that I needed at the time. Hattie may not agree šŸ˜‰ but I will always be grateful.

It is such a relief that i have proof that everything is working correctly. I want her to be with us for years to come.

Danger aside, look how big your littles are now!!

I just did a search. The majority are on your thread, with a smattering on MJ and Ribh’s threads, plus four unrelated ones. It will probably get spread over the three threads, much like the rest of us!
Oh @LozzyR I have to laugh, you and I are a fellow nerds! I too went straight to the search function. In terms of original posts (i.e. excluding replies), Fluffy Butt and Ribh's threads are neck and neck. The original Caturday post on this collection of threads was posted by @MaryJanet on her thread sending a Caturday picture of Blossom for @LozzyR.
But @N F C (Debby) has us all beat, as she wished everyone a happy Caturday waaaaay back in 2015.
I will shut up now and go look for chicken tax.
Mystery solved! Thanks Detectives @LozzyR and @RoyalChick ! šŸ‘®ā€ā™€ļøšŸ‘®ā€ā™€ļøšŸ‘
