Today started dark and very wet, so dark the ladies didn't bother leaving the coop when I opened their door at 7:45. They just chattered at me a few minutes later when I brought out fresh water for the run and shook the feeder to make sure it wasn't damp. At 9:30 my dh Bill comes in to grab some scratch and bugs (grubs) for them and says they have finally decided to come out. I figured I would have stayed in too, it was a nasty wet and windy morning, although I would have expected them to have come out to eat at least.
About 3:30 I went to give them "dinner" and check to see if the coop needed a quick clean. I thought oh hey I guess Bill raked it out already (not common) so i went in and asked, nope. That was all them he says, sounded like they were rearranging furniture all morning!
It is now minutes from midnight and 62°! Still pouring rain, we need it, but not all at once, too much flooding after our fires this summer.
