We did the Hobbit at bedtime when she was 4
And of course the usual Enid Blyton and Roald Dahl for chapter books.
Picture story books are too many to count, her library in her room rivals mine

And the Milly~Molly~Mandy books! They are a great introduction to chapter books.

I am beginning to think it is the weather app that is the problem. It has been cold and wet all day and it says it will snow over-night. Surely not?!

Both my girls credit my reading of the Hobbit to them as to why they love to read now. It's the perfect book if you get them at the right age.

I will admit to competing in Dramatic Reading competitions so I am probably still pretty good at it. My Gollum voice still gives my oldest chills.

Chicken tax. (I need to post on chickens again. I am paying taxes all over the place! )

No way. It's not snowing in Detroit. It is all rain there. How can you, who says she lives in NJ, be colder than Detroit? Not possible.

I don't really believe it. It is going down to 32 tonight and down to 25 tomorrow night so I guess it is possible! The snow on the ground is definitely not going away in a hurry even though it has been in the high 30s/low 40s and raining all day.
It is not meant to be this way!

I hate to say this but I'm pretty certain that my grass grew today with all the rain. It certainly turned greener.

It's been snowing since the afternoon here. Big wet flakes. Hovering around freezing, we're getting some accumulation on top of the snow that hasn't left yet, and the wet areas are getting slushy.

Rainy Days and Thursdays

it rained hard all day today. Mostly the ladies were excited by it. Why were they excited by cold 40°F rain?

At one point today the tribe got separated and these two got trapped at the house.

Lilly Update
She is back sleeping in the nest box tonight. I need to turn on the cameras tomorrow night and try to figure out if she is just going there on her own by choice or if something else is happening.

It's been snowing since the afternoon here. Big wet flakes. Hovering around freezing, we're getting some accumulation on top of the snow that hasn't left yet, and the wet areas are getting slushy.
