What a handsome roo!“What we have here, is” a success in communication. Neighborhood roosters are crowing and Jaffar is returning the calls, but he is losing the argument, because (He’s under the porch, with his ladies) muffling his sound. But he’s no dummy. It’s cool under there, and the neighborhood doesn’t offer such luxury to their roosters. It’s 100f out now. So, (not only is Jaffar good looking, but also quite intelligent).
I know that feeling!! It's taken a lot of maturity and discipline for me to stick to my original plan of 2-3 pullets every couple of years.I try to be very methodical about all changes like this. Emotionally I want all chickens!

I'm really pleased at how tame they are! I'm thinking Bob might have a pair of lap hens in the making.I just adore these girls! They are little stunners. I have thought of something you need to watch for & that's little feathers curling into their eyes. You will be great @ this @BY Bob! Just look how friendly they are already! There will be some tussles, that's for sure! And some happy times tooYou alone have given me so much encouragement that I don't see how I can fail.
Even more interesting will be the response of the Sansas of the world. They will outnumbered by these weirdos!

At least the apprentices will be too young to fight back and too fast to come to much harm. I think it'll work out ok until they're mature and then we'll see how it all turns out. I think the worst case scenario is that Phyllis sticks with her old friends and apprentices stick together. But one of the youngsters will end up lowest in the pecking order.
I nearly got tempted this spring but I am holding out until next year to expand. I have a similar plan MJ.
