I had a health scare today. I was feeling “weird” while working on a junk pile from the garage. Then I noticed my heart was working WAY too hard. It was POUNDING and going double time. This has happened before, but resting for a few minutes took care if it. Not this time. It lasted well over half an hour and I was very light headed. Heart was pounding so hard my body would rock just slightly when I was laying down.

I was dehydrated and had an extra espresso shot in my coffee. I am pretty sensitive to caffeine (combo if adrenaline and caffeine makes me visibly tremble).

I crawled down the hall and told my husband how to make me some electrolytes. Eventually my heart calmed down, but I was super exhausted afterward. I need to take better care of myself.

Something you should definitely talk to a Dr. about! Tachycardia is serious business which can permanently damage your heart. DH has this and arrhythmia despite the pacemaker.

I am sure the answer is further on but I do want to hear how it worked (and how her vet trip was).
She's very healthy now and once the probiotics are finished (two more doses), I'll keep an eye on her poops. If her poops go watery again, they'll prepare another course of probiotics for her.

So that's it for vet appointments until Peggy's next checkup in 10 weeks. Ivy will be tagging along.

Fantastic news 🥰

I hope you feel better now! :lau
I agree with the bulk of what you say. However in this particular situation I would point out:
- This is not about my powers of observation. My coop cams are not new and I have never seen anything quite this savage. I observe the morning nest box ritual either live or on camera most mornings. The next most savage attack I have seen was Diana attacking Maggie which was unrelated to the nest boxes and out in the field.
- At this stage nobody is new to anybody (the roadrunners are over a year old) and they roost together just fine having adopted social norms that reduce any chance savagery - basically the roadrunners will fly down and then fly back up if a big Princess wants to pass
So this was definitely an unusual event (though not an unusual victim nor an unusual perpetrator).
Minnie went up into Maggie's nest box but laid her egg in the original one. Maggie laid in her usual place and not in the one she threw Minnie out of. Everyone is out in the long grass now hunting bugs together.
Ooops, did I have a bit of a rant...:p
Yep, I feel a bit better thanks. I made the mistake of reading the general forums prior to posting. I've also had the misfortune of being shown some of the chicken posts/advice on Facebook by my daughter.:he
Not having chicken pictures to post means I'm liable to think about what others have written instead of just blasting through the posts pressing the like button. Bound to end in trouble.:D
I'm going to be sticking to building my Etsy shop for a few days so rant fodder should be minimal for a while. Don't worry though, I'll still find plenty of rant fodder later.
