As promised here are the pictures of Henrietta's 6. They are 4 days old now and are growing well. While they are quite, happy and content, they are also happy little mess makers. Each one has already made up for the fact that I only got pooped on once with all the chicks I brooded in early spring. If I hold one for more then a minute I'm getting pooped on.

Just be thankful that they haven’t learned the art of projectile poop.
Yes, that is what the roadrunners did at that age. They would turn their backs to me, assume the position, and fire!
I got hit in the face more than a couple of times!

Are you looking for names for the future chicks Bob? Or for the group as a whole?

I did a quick google of Polish Queens. Some of the easier to pronounce names are:
Oda
Emnilda
Agnes
Eudoxia
Lucia
Ludmila
Hedwig
Viola

There are lots of others, but either I couldn't figure out how to pronounce them or they are more "common" names like Ann and Helen. Just thought I'd throw them out there for you to look at. 😇
Thanks,. Hedwig was a woman? Tough name for her. 😆

Well that was interesting.
I cracked two roadrunner eggs and one was white inside and one was blue!

I swapped them around on the counter to be sure it wasn’t a trick of the light.
That was so intriguing I dug through the chips of shell I already fed back to the Princesses. Sure enough a mix of blue and white on the inside.
🤔

So I investigated more and I discovered that the white ones actually have a very tightly adhering membrane and are also blue under the membrane.
I peeled the membrane off some chips of shell (it was really stuck on there!) and found blue underneath.

Very cool and you have answered the question posed. Thanks so much. Blue is true.

Not so much individual names, although we may need help there you never know, but as a group. Since the idea is they will all be hanging together, we are thinking they will need a group name. Like "The Pierogi Posse".

We still need coop names as well.......
How about The Babushkas?

I have one of those and my ladies figure it out just fine.
I get the sense they prefer an open feeder but it works great.
Thanks for the feedback and you too @BY Bob @Aussie-Chookmum. I think I’ll trial one, if they don’t take to it I’ll switch back to their current feeder 👍🏻
Can’t afford a new coop yet but I’ll start small, I love buying them new things 😁
