Phyllis Meets the Chicks

Phyllis was up when I took the chicks out yesterday and she got to meet them. She ran right over to see them. However Sydney has taken control of the area around them and ran Phyllis off.

This is really Sydney's show. As the video goes on you can hear her talking to the chicks and it appears she is showing them things to eat.

Amazing.

Hmmm, I'm not sure that is what Sydney is doing. Phyllis is making friendly signs.

Wow - that series of videos is adorable, fascinating and sad all at the same time. In the first video Phyllis seems to want to get in there with them in the worst possible way. But Sydney does seem to be the most natural Mom.
I wonder if you could arrange alone time for them with Phyllis indoors with mealy worms.
I think that's what's needed. It's very difficult to tell who is going to behave how while the chicks are fenced in like that.

Hair Styles

Legertha and Sylvie have been working on their hair styles. What does everyone think?

I'm not quite sure how to describe this. Let's start with the top view.

The V shape from the front is quite impressive.

Sylvie is just starting her pin feathers. She is going for more of a Mohawk style.

The book I got on hatching eggs and raising chicks in fourth grade said that eggs get more misshapen with age if I recall.

SHRA ( I was trying to avoid paying one of these, usually I'm so good)
