I think that I will winterize the coop (remove the drafty areas) It might make the chooks more comfortable at cold nights. But it never gets really cold here anyways. Jaffar is now out with his ladies, running the yard.

Maybe cover these areas with tarps? What do you think?

Nothing to worry about. I appreciate the language issue.

I will say that Sansa is being a total chicken. She is eating well, scratching hard, running around, chasing the littles, and was feisty as all get out when I was trying to weigh and check her over. She fought hard at one point when I was trying to check her feathers.

Good signs. I am hopeful it is just a weird molt. Maybe the vet can give her something to support her.

This is just so sad. That's Amp in the picture. She's pretty much on her own now and she knows it. I'm hoping that one of the legbars who sometimes forages with her will be her friend. It's not the dead that suffer, it's the living they leave behind.
Amp is not well. It looks to be heart problems which has caused ascites. Ascites cannot be cured. The belly can be drained but the underlying problem still remains.

Note: I don’t use poison, or weed killer anywhere on my property. The idiot next door, has chooks too (he should know better) yes I have spoken to him about it. He refuses to care.

This is terrible! I have weeds and mice. Yeah, it’s a pain in the butt, but geez. Not worth harming my dogs, chickens, and the wild birds in the neighborhood (we have huge flocks of vultures).
Why are people like this?

And what am I doing to do about my “BoPeeps”? She’s in the coop setting on two eggs. When I go to see what we got, she bites me (bites and holds on tight) I offered her some treats, she pecked them from my hand, and then bit me again! Ouch. Bad girl BoPeeps!
