I have always wondered about the treadle feeders. I am very interested in how you are training them. Any chance for some video?
I used a treadle feeder for ages but the size I had was no good for the number of girls I now have. The commercial ones come with 3 different settings so it is easy to train the girls how to use it.

How many chickens have you got now? I was looking at your thread for a bit trying to catch up but it was a little overwhelming (I’ve missed SO much… I absolutely don’t know how some people start at the beginning of threads and actually catch up!)

Some evening mugs :)

I've got 18 just now. About 1/3 of the flock is bantys [Japs, D'Uccles & Wyandottes]. Most of them are broody. I've got 4 frizzles [2 Wyandotte, an unknown & a D'Uccle].

Haha I gave up at page 78 😆

Bob needs to give a 'Coles Notes' version catch up of his chickies. Meanwhile I am sooooo loving Phyllis and Betty 💖💖💖

I may go the plastic shed route. Check these out! I would need to figure out how to add windows. I like the hardware cloth on the doors idea. I think I could lay down some sort of base rock, level it, and put large pavers on top for under the shed floor.

Wow that first one is lovely!

I would say ensure an adequate top roof vent, get one of those whirly-bird ones, my dad did that for his metal shed in Yuma AZ (no chickies just a work shed) as it was so hot - the vent was great at keeping it cool in there (he also insulated with foam).

I can't wait to see what u go with!!
