For anyone willing to narrow down the guesses on the chipmunk chick here is a video and a couple of shots. The pics are from yesterday - so much growth in 24 hours!

Oh she is so cute we had a Chippy chick but being a barnyard mutts wont help u much in identifying h this wee ones breed I am afraid! I do think a hen tho, nice dainty legs. The boys have beefy legs I have found.

Yes I was all paranoid when Henny hatched her chicks, but they were keen to dig in the dirt, eat little worms they dug up and generally run amok they are tough little critters!

Flying seems to be the obsession here. They are all eyeing the top of the food container. I am going out now to get them some branches. Never too young to learn how to roost!

Yes. It is worth reading this thread. Lots of information and links to APHIS monitoring as well as directives from state vets.
Ignore the title of the thread - it is all states. It is a long thread but for anyone in the US quite informative. It is very worrying. First case in PA reported yesterday. Many in NJ but so far in one very specific area.

Just getting bird populations back for the season so maybe start seeing here too in next month.

Also a straight comb. Upward swoop of the "egyptian" eyeliner says not a speckled Sussex. Leg color/toes eliminate Phoenix, Dorking.

My guess: welsummer

This is the link to APHIS wild bird site and you can click on the commercial and backyard site inside this link. It is worth checking both wild birds and commercial/backyard birds. This site tells you all the confirmed cases by county.
Then look at your state vet website for what they are recommending.

I didn’t know that about legs. I love your use of the word ‘dainty’ because she is a lot beefier than the other two.

Wow. There is a lot to this! You are right, the eyeliner points upwards.
The little blue one has eyeliner but it is straight.

Predictably CCC (chonky chipmunk chick) was the first to get up on top of the brooder plate.
She planted the flag on this newly discovered territory by pooping on it. And then returned home to a heroes welcome.
Quite the explorer!
